The Alabama Shakes are celebrating the release of their brand new album 'Sound & Color', a minimal and tasteful record that shows off their impeccable songwriting talent in all it's glory… “We took our time to write this record, and I’m really glad we did,” says Brittany Howard, lead singer and guitarist of Alabama Shakes, about the band’s new album Sound & Color. “We were able to sit down and think about what’s exciting to us, explore all the things we wanted to on our first album."
Lead singer Brittany Howard is known for her dynamic vocals influenced by Sister Rosetta Tharpe, Prince, Curtis Mayfield, David Bowie, Mavis Staples, Tom Waits, Björk, Gil Scott-Heron, Freddie Mercury and Tina Turner. Her passion for music is so apparent, even more so on this particular record… “I feel like I’m capable of anything,” the singer responds. “It took a lot of patience to make this record, and to communicate so well with each other. I know now we’re the kind of band that can do that.”
