Mad Decent is an LA-based record label founded by Diplo, an internationally renowned DJ, musician, producer, international tastemaker, curator. The Mad Decent label became a household name sometime in 2012 and 2013 as the machinery behind the youtube viral hit dance craze "Harlem Shake".
Diplo not only formed a music brand, but also created a dynamic party lifestyle, dubbed as "Mad Decent Block Party". Starting in 2008, the party phenomenon began in Philadelpia, where dance music lovers were exposed to huge roster of techno, dancehall, and electronic pop artists and music. Recently, 'moombathon' was introduced by DJ Dave Nada–an electronic amalgam of house music and reggaeton, a genre that takes audiences to a state of dance frenzy. The block parties started with a mere 8-city dates in 2008, reaching 22-city dates this year 2014…and the crowd always craves for more.
