They’re the very blues-meets-Southern-meets-roots-meets-soul band that had their humble beginnings in bars and clubs around Souteastern United States in the late 2000s. They’re the very band that pushed past what was thought possible and catapulted right to the top with their 2012 debut album Boys & Girls, with its lead single Hold On landing them three Grammy Award nominations. They’re the electrifying performers that had their second album debut at the top of the Billboard 200 chart, winning three Grammy Awards, including Best Rock Song for the single Don’t Wanna Fight.
It’s fair to say that Alabama Shakes are firmly cemented in music history as a force to be reckoned with – thunderous and breathtaking, dazzling and tumultous, and both a party and a deeply moving experience at the same time. Their unique sound is both fresh and vital, and every time they hit the stage, they leave their hearts there. The musicianship is immaculate, the musical prowess unparalleled, and the soul-and-bone performances second to none. Alabama Shakes has that X-factor, that something special you can’t quite put your finger on, and this has gained them the reputation as one of the most dynamic live acts on the road today.
Brittany Howard and her henchmen have just announced a string of new dates to be added to their already massive spring and summer world tour, including some festival performances. Alabama Shakes will be shaking things up, starting in Richmond, Virginia, in mid-April 2026, with stops in Memphis, St. Augustine, Clearwater, and Morrison, before heading across the waters to the United Kingdom, Italy, and Spain, among others. They will be wrapping the tour up back home on North American shores in mid-September 2026 in Dover, Delaware.
Alabama Shakes will be joined in Berkeley by American singer-songwriter Nathaniel Ratecliff and his band The Night Sweats. The folk icon is best known for hits such as Still Trying, You Should’ve Seen The Other Guy, and Out on the Weekend.
