You can expect the Grammy Award-winning musician and producer to perform his biggest hits, fan favorites, and new music in a special night dedicated to newfound freedom amid 'trying times'. The English singer, songwriter, and record producer, James Blake, known for emotive light head vocals and soul-stirring falsettos—one that can have you falling in love all over again. He started catching attention upon the release of three EPs back in 2010, and scoring a deal with A&M Records for his 2011 self-titled debut album. The record served his hit single "Limit to Your Love", marking the great start of his career. Several albums later with Polydor, the man kept it all up as he kept recording & performing hits like "Retrograde", "I Need a Forest Fire", "Mile High" (featuring Travis Scott and Metro Boomin), "Modern Soul", "A Case of You", "Radio Silence", and more. He even had a song from the Black Panther movie, the 3x Platinum "King's Dead" (with Jay Rock, Kendrick Lamarand Future).
Winning a Mercury Prize, two Grammys, a Latin Grammy Award, and three Brit Award nominations, it's definitely been a golden run in music. In 2024, he made the brave decision to leave Polydor Records and start his own production house & record label, becoming an independent artist himself. He kicked off the era with a single "Thrown Around".
10 tracks in the album, Trying Times is his most vulnerable and special body of work yet. "I will stand on the rooftop and shout about it, probably forever. I feel like I never want to stop promoting it," Blake shared via The LA Times.
Known to combine electronic beats with folk-inspired melodies and endearing stories, Blake is an artist whose music definitely comes straight from his heart. On his new album, his unmistakable voice still shines while he introduces both familiar and new vibes in his first independent album.
"I think the theme that persists through it is reconciling your private life — your hopes, your dreams, your relationship, your love, your friendships," Blake shared with Variety about the album.
"The hope is that we ride it out, nature heals, and love and empathy persevere as we go through it," he explains as he talks about a "love in a time of chaos" where the future has been so unpredictable.
Whatever happens, he's looking forward to letting it all out on tour. His first album and headlining run as an independent artist, celebrate this new era of James Blake by booking those tickets now!
