Above and Beyond at The Greek Theatre

English trance trio Above and Beyond returns to Greek Theatre Berkeley on Friday 27th May for two nights of epic and exciting EDM with a twist… This time it's not electronic! The group have re-imagined some of their classic club tunes acoustically and are touring "the world's most iconic venues" in support of their hotly anticipated new album Acoustic II! It's dance music like you've never heard it before!!!

Formed in 2000, English progressive trance group Above and Beyond consists of members Jono Grant, Tony McGuinness, and Paavo Siljamäki – owners of London-based electronic dance music labels Anjunabeats and Anjunadeep. The trio also run a weekly radio show called Group Therapy Radio. In 1999, previous to Above and Beyond, Grant and Siljamäki founded Anunjabeats, having met at the University of Westminster. Not long after, the duo met McGuiness, and Above and Beyond was formed, launching their career with a remix of Chakra's “Home”. Their debut as a DJ act came in 2002, which lead them into the Top Ten of the DJ Mag Top 100 poll. Their production debut came in the same year, with the single “Far From Love”, featuring Kate Cameron. Four years later their first studio album, Tri-State, was released and UK-based DJ Magazine gave the album a five-star review, saying, "A blend of sleek electronic rhythms, lush filmic textures and old-fashioned song writing. Tri-State is the fulfillment of any dance act's ultimate album aspiration: a padding-free, skilled, diverse long-player. In a word, 'Brilliant.'" In 2015, Above and Beyond release their fourth artist album We Are All We Need.
