Miguel is an American R&B singer, songwriter, actor and record producer. His first foray into the music world was aged 15, when he signed a production deal with Drop Squad. Four years later, in 2004, Miguel was signed by independent record label Black Ice and prepared to release his debut album Young and Free. The record was ultimately shelved, but Miguel continued to pursue his career, collaborating with other artists including Usher, and releasing his debut album All I Want Is You in 2010 on Jive Records. Mainstream success came with the release of Miguel's second studio album, Kaleidoscope Dreams, which was released in 2012 on RCA Records, peaking at number 3 on the Billboard 200 and receiving critical acclaim. Miguel's 2015 album Wildheart earned him a Grammy Award nomination, and his latest album, War & Leisure, is a 2017 release.
